How to Print from iPhone & Android to Brother HL-L2320D (AirPrint Setup)
Step-by-step guide to connect the popular Brother HL-L2320D USB laser printer to iPhone, iPad, and Android for wireless printing without AirPrint hardware.
Run one command on your Windows PC and your USB printer shows up right inside the print dialog of iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux. Nothing needs to be installed on the devices, and nothing leaves your local network.
Zero install on every device • Works with AirPrint · Mopria · IPP Everywhere
One command exposes a native network printer; the web UI adds uploads, live queue and diagnostics. Click any card to explore full size.

printman share announces your printer to AirPrint, Mopria and IPP Everywhere clients, so it shows up in every print dialog.

Zero-install web UI for iOS and Android. Upload documents, choose paper trays, and print from anywhere on local Wi-Fi.

Full desktop browser experience with multi-file drag-and-drop, real-time spooler diagnostics, and emergency queue purge.

Colorized console with LAN IP auto-detection, auto-generated secure PINs, and native winspool.drv diagnostics.
A small tool built out of daily frustration with family homework, and a printer that refuses to die.
“Do not replace reliable hardware. Modernize the access layer.”
That is exactly what printman sharedoes: our 12-year-old USB printer now appears as a normal Wi-Fi printer in every phone and laptop's print dialog, with nothing installed on any of them.
In 2014, I bought an HP LaserJet Professional P1102. For over 12 years across multiple family homes, it never failed. One single toner cartridge lasted three years of continuous use. Durable, economical, and unkillable.
School assignments and worksheets arrive on iPhones and iPads. But our printer had only a USB cable to a desktop PC. Moving files from mobile to desktop every evening was a tedious, repetitive chore.
Instead of buying a fragile \$200 Wi-Fi printer tied to cloud accounts and ink subscriptions, Printman turns the host PC into a real network printer. It appears in the native print dialog of every device on our Wi-Fi, so my family prints instantly, with no app to install.
Printman uses the same IPP Everywhere and Bonjour standards as a modern Wi-Fi printer, so every device on your network can print to your old USB printer with zero setup on the device itself.
Your printer appears in the native print dialogs of iOS/iPadOS (AirPrint), Android (Mopria), Windows, macOS and Linux (IPP Everywhere), announced automatically over mDNS / Bonjour.
There is nothing to install on the phone, the laptop or anywhere else. Devices just see a normal Wi-Fi printer, because to them, that is exactly what it is.
Run printman share and you are done. Pick printers from a checklist (--select), share them all (--all), or add the web UI (--web).
Only private / LAN addresses are accepted. Jobs, filenames and page contents never leave your network and no cloud account is involved, ever.
Prefer a browser? Run printman serve(or share --web) for a mobile-first web page with uploads, PIN protection and live queue controls.
Network and web jobs flow through the same serialized spooler pipeline. Watch real-time hardware flags from winspool.drv: Paper Jam, Out of Paper, Offline, Door Open, Busy and Paused.
Stops kids from printing the same worksheet twice. If a printer jams, cancel single jobs or purge the entire Windows queue with one command or one click.
Built entirely on native Windows APIs and the .NET runtime. The same binary renders PDF, images, PWG Raster and Apple URF jobs with no external NuGet dependencies.
Pass flags for automated headless printing, or run printmanwith no arguments to step through the interactive launcher and terminal wizard.
You do not need a Raspberry Pi, CUPS or a cloud bridge, and the devices need no drivers of their own. The printer simply becomes a normal Wi-Fi printer.
On the PC that owns the USB printer, open PowerShell or Windows Terminal and run:
Approve the one-time Windows firewall prompt on a Privatenetwork. The printer is announced on your Wi-Fi over Bonjour.
On any phone, tablet or laptop on the same Wi-Fi, open the normal print dialog. For example, on iPhone or iPad use Share then Print:
Works with AirPrint, Mopria, Windows, macOS and driverless IPP Everywhere.
Tap Print. Printman receives the job, renders it (PDF, JPEG/PNG, PWG Raster, Apple URF) and pushes it through the serialized Windows spooler to your USB printer.
Start the mobile web UI instead, or run both modes at once.

Two ways to print to the same USB printer. Use one, or run both at once withprintman share --web.

Native print dialogs cannot type a PIN, so anyone on your local network can print to a shared printer, exactly like a normal Wi-Fi printer. The PIN still protects the web UI (serve /share --web). Requests from non-private IP addresses are rejected, and nothing ever leaves your network.
Share printers as native network printers, run the web UI, or automate printing from scripts.
